CONCEPT

Innovation meets Tradition
~Innovating the beauty of tradition~

A LEATHER is a leather product brand that is committed to Japanese quality.
We launched the brand in order to spread the word about Japan's wonderful traditional techniques and production background to the world, and also to break away from the historical image of conventional leather products.

By inventing leather products with unprecedented strength, we make an impact not only in terms of design but also in terms of functionality.
We will pass on high-quality Japanese leather and Japanese craftsmanship to the next generation through unprecedented leather products.

COMMITMENT

We use leather, which is an inevitable by-product of our meat and dairy culture, and transform it into leather products that can be enjoyed for a long time.

Not only the leather, but all materials used in our products, such as zippers, linings, and buttons, are produced in Japan.
We are committed to domestic production for all stages of production, and we carefully create each product using Japan's advanced production technology and historical background before delivering it to our customers.

BACKGROUND

All of the leather used by A LEATHER is tanned by tanners in Himeji.

The leather is carefully tanned while paying close attention to seasonal and weather changes, and is dyed thoroughly over time to create soft leather with a natural texture. The excellent natural environment found only in this area and the advanced techniques that have been handed down over a long history result in a very high-quality leather.

The leather that has been carefully produced in this way is cut by hand by skilled cutters at a cutting factory in Osaka. Since no two pieces of leather are the same, and since it is not possible to cut them in layers, the cutters touch each piece of leather with their own unique characteristics, check them with their own eyes, and then cut them.
The cut parts are then moved to a sewing factory in Osaka, where seamstresses with many years of experience and high sewing skills sew them using a method called "round sewing," in which a single craftsman carefully sews each garment one by one, rather than using an assembly line or automatic sewing method.

Every process is carried out by hand, which may seem like a very inefficient method in this age where so much is mechanized and automated, but A LEATHER is proud of the one-of-a-kind products that can only be produced in this way, which may be considered inefficient.
